I’m not exactly sure how to react to this news. But can somebody answer me a question? How does Kendrick Perkins keep getting work? Somebody help me. I am looking at his statistics by year. And I am scratching my head over how this guy has spent 13 seasons in the league. He has never had a full season. The most number of games he’s played in one season is 78. He’s done that three times. In the regular season. He has not accrued a double-digit rebound season. He has one double-digit point average.
And if any of you say that his 12-12 postseason average in 09 is enough. Look in the mirror and then throw your head towards it.
He is below average AT BEST. So the fact that Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Cavs are frontrunners to sign Perkins. I just throw my hands up saying if this actually happens. I give up.
Perkins and the Utah Jazz are proceeding on a contract buyout that could be completed as soon as Saturday, sources said.
Perkins is leaning toward signing a deal with the Cavaliers, but has yet to make a final commitment, sources said.
Oklahoma City traded Perkins, 30, to the Jazz as part of package that sent Enes Kanter to the Thunder on Thursday.
Perkins’ talents have diminished in the past few years, but his toughness and leadership still makes him a valued presence in contending locker rooms. Perkins has played 13 NBA seasons, including eight with the Boston Celtics and five with the Thunder.
He had talents before? Setting a pick isn’t the biggest skill in basketball let’s be honest.
