New York’s Casanova has turned himself in to federal authorities after being met with racketeering, drug and gun charges. He is one of 18 people charged in connection to what authorities are calling the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang.
“Members of Gorilla Stone committed terrible acts of violence, trafficked in narcotics, and even engaged in brazen fraud by exploiting benefits programs meant to provide assistance in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said.
The 34-year-old rapper was riding high off of the success of his debut studio album, Behind These Scars. The 10-track project was both polished and showed his evolution as a man. He connected with Chris Brown, Gunna, Young Thug, Fabolous, Jeremih and Giggs for the album. He also dropped the hit, “So Brooklyn,” with Fabolous that spawned a number of different freestyles from a variety of cities.
Casanova is now fighting for his freedom. If convicted on all charges, he would face life behind bars. He nor his attorney have issued an official statement regarding the most recent legal developments.
