For the past few years, kids of the 90’s have been pleading with television networks to bring back hit shows.
Nickelodeon was the first to bring back a few episodes of hits like Hey Arnold! and the Rugrats, and Cartoon Network is next.
The network is set to bring back the hit cartoon show, The Powerpuff Girls.
The cult cartoon classic – which centered around three girls with superpowers – originally aired 78 episodes between 1998 and 2005.
According to The Wrap, Cartoon Network’s chief content officer Rob Sorcher and Pete Yoder, VP of consumer products has confirmed the news:
As the original ambassador of ‘girl power’, the Powerpuff Girls brand continues to resonate with people of all ages.
There is tremendous excitement around introducing Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup to a new generation.”
Created by Craig McCracken, The Powerpuff Girls has won two Emmys and spawned a feature film, comics and video games.
No official word yet on when the show will re-air on Carton Network.
