Michael Carter-Williams injury problems all season have caused for him to sit an odd amount of games in his second season with the 76ers. Now the most recent injury to his right big toe, which kept him out of the last 3 sixers games before the All-Star break, will also sideline him for the BBVA Compass Rising Stars game during NBA All-Star Weekend.
His teammate on the Philadelphia 76ers, Robert Covington, will replace last seasons Rookie of the Year due to his injuries on the USA roster for the BBVA Compass NBA Rising Stars Game. The game this season features as USA versus World format only involving the first and second year players in the NBA from around the world and United States.

Michael Carter-Williams’ right big toe injury that kept him out of the last three games before the All-Star break, will also sideline him for the Rising Stars game on Friday night, an NBA source confirmed.
Robert Covington, the Sixers’ sharpshooting forward, will take Carter-Williams’ place on the roster.
Carter-Williams was also slated to participate in the Skills Competition during the All-Star Saturday festivities at the Barclays Center, but his status for the event remains uncertain.
Covington’s sharpshooting skills may be on display this Friday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as the undrafted second-year player out of Tennessee State is shooting 39.5 percent from three-point range on the season. Covington is also averaging 13.2 points per game on the season. Covington has seen his role on the team increase since leading scorer for the Sixers, Tony Wroten, went out with a partially torn ACL. Covington is averaging 14.9 points pergame and nearly 3, three-pointers per game in his last 15 games.
Oddly enough for the Sixers, last season Carter-Williams missed 12 games, in which the Sixers went 1-11. This season the Sixers are also 1-11 without MCW.
