It’s safe to say that the hottest commodity in free agency will be Carmelo Anthony. Even more so because of how blank he’s being.
In a recent interview with Melo where he talked about the season, how it went and how he’s feeling about the coming months (Free agency) it’s obvious that he doesn’t know where he’s going to be next season. Here’s a few key quotes from Anthony…
I want to come back… I also want to win.
I don’t know if I can afford another season of losing.
I’m not at the point in my career where I want to rebuild
Looking pretty clear so far that if he wants to win, spend a few years winning and NOT rebuild, he should not go back to the Knicks. Lets go deeper into the obvious.
At this point in my career I’m not concerned about money.
Here’s a stat for you. According to Frank Isola of New York Daily News, the Knicks can offer a five year, $129 million deal. Nobody else can lash that kind of dough to Melo.
So how is this possibly a conversation? Clearly from the quotes he should not go back. Chicago is looking like the front runner.
Even Lala (Melo’s Wife) probably knows he should leave, she probably won’t say it.
I tell you this… What if he stayed? How much of a 180 would that be? Bottom line somebody should ask him this simple question.
“What do you want? Money? Or rings?”
At least Jabari Parker had a reason to stop and think about his options. This is a no brainer! Ditch NY and go to a championship contending team! Imagine him with Chicago or Houston? Guarenteed Playoffs!
It’s all you Melo. Your career is in your hands.
