It’s safe to say the “MeloDrama” is officially over thank God. But it could’ve gone on for much longer as Carmelo Anthony was genuinely close to leaving New York according Michael Lee of the Washington Post.
“I could never leave this,” a grinning Anthony said, with the momentum of the trailing crowd guiding him through a tunnel. “Too much love here.”
I guess we can let him off. We were fine with LeBron going home weren’t we?
“It was close, it was close. I don’t even like to talk about that no more,” said the Brooklyn-born, Baltimore-raised Anthony, who also attracted contract offers from Houston, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers. “This is home. There is no place like New York. Although the other situations were very intriguing, there is no place like New York.”
I’m just glad we can all look ahead. There are a lot of reputations riding on what the Knicks do in the near future.
The fact that New York is the “Media Capital of the world” does not help Carmelo so all I can say is have fun with that!
