Carmelo Anthony is getting all the information he can on Chicago
All-Star forward, Carmelo Anthony has until Monday June 23rd to decide whether or not he will opt out of his deal with the New York Knicks or resign to stay with the orange and blue. All signs have indicated that Carmelo will indeed opt out of his deal with the Knicks, but a new report from ESPN has surfaced that has Carmelo doing some research on the Windy City.
According to league sources, Anthony has talked to at least one high-profile person who lives in Chicago about what it’s like to be famous in the Windy City.
The Chicago Bulls are one of several teams with whom Anthony would consider signing if he decides to test free agency this summer, sources recently told ESPN’s Marc Stein.
Apparently the interest isn’t one sided either.
Back in February at the All-Star break, a report surfaced that Bulls All-Star Center and the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year, Joakim Noah, had a nice conversation with Carmelo about taking his talents to the mid-west.
Along with Noah, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau has also expressed a high interest in the former scoring champion. Coach Thibodeau has even reached out to some of Anthony’s former coaches, accoring to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Acquiring Carmelo though wont be as easy as many think.
