Carmelo Anthony is busy trying to stay healthy. While that happens the Knicks organisation are currently focusing on the long term. Now it’s not the job of the players to think about the long term but with all this rebuilding it’s hard not to think about the road the team is going down. And since Carmelo is the biggest piece of the puzzle right now. It’s only fair that he has a say on it. Ian Begley of ESPN NY reported that Melo has trust in Phil.
Two days after team president Phil Jackson made a trade that essentially pulled the plug on the New York Knicks’ season, star forward Carmelo Anthony said that he trusts in Jackson’s plan to revamp the franchise.
“I’ve got to trust in what’s happening,” Anthony said Wednesday. “I’ve got to trust in the plan that they’re trying to put in place.”
Entering the season, Anthony thought the Knicks would be a playoff team. That prediction now looks way off base.
“I kind of knew that it was going to be kind of a rebuilding situation. But to be in the situation that we’re in now from a record standpoint, I couldn’t imagine this in a long time,“
“Kind of” a rebuilding situation?! Is that a joke?
Of course they’d dive into a rebuild. It only took till now to actually go in motion! Did any of you seriously look at the 2014-15 New York Knicks roster, with a Rookie coach and say “Yes, Playoff team for sure”
If you legitimately said that and you weren’t on some sort of hard drug. Then congratulations. You’re crazy.
The rebuild for the New York Knicks has officially begun.
