The Carmelo Anthony drama in New York has hit a new subtle high. Recently, during another Knicks loss, this time at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers, the All-Star had a small exchange with a heckling fan.
Essentially, the fan told Melo that the Knicks suck and all Melo did was point at James Dolan and told the fan to ask him for his money back. It was an exchange that made some media members chuckle. No big deal, right?
That exchange, as little as it is, for whatever reason did not sit well with Dolan and the Knicks. An apology was issued on Melo’s behalf.

Does that apology look authentic to you? Nope, me neither. It appears that the apology might not have came from the best place either. It was all coming from the Knicks front office and in particular, ‘Mr.Dolan’.
Following from Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.
Carmelo Anthony said it was “the Knicks” and later added it was “Mr. Dolan’s” decision to release statement about the fan back and forth. Asked if he sat down with Dolan, Anthony said it really isn’t that big of a deal to do that.
Could this be one of the things that drives a division between the Knicks and Carmelo? Possibly, but it could also be something that everyone forgets about when the summer comes around.
