The Knicks are sinking faster than the Titanic at this point, and it’s horrifically entertaining. At the beginning of the season people knew the Knicks wouldn’t be contenders necessarily, however, to have a 4-20 record is absurd. Now to throw more croutons on this suck-salad, it’s being reported by the Post that Carmelo Anthony is willing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract.
After losing 10 straight games, frustration has grown within the locker room, including “fights” between teammates. Having said that, who would’ve thought that after signing a five-year, $124 million contract, stories like this would come to life.
Sources close to the team say that Anthony doesn’t have the desire to leave the team, but a willingness to give up a no-trade clause is pretty telling, if true.
“He thought things would be better than this, but he still wants to stick it out for now,” a source said. “He trusts Phil, but I think he’s afraid of Phil.”
We’ll have more as the story develops.
UPDATE: Anthony has denied the Post’s reports of him wanting to waive the no-trade clause.
Source close to Carmelo Anthony says report that he is considering waving no trade clause for trade from #Knicks is "definitely not true."

Carmelo: "After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak."
