Carmelo Anthony’s tumultuous offseason might have actually been all talk. There were reports about Melo being upset about the choices the New York Knicks made this offseason, most notably the draft.
Melo reportedly wasn’t happy with the selection of European forward Kristaps Porzingis with the Knicks fourth overall pick. The Knicks star took to instagram to deny those rumors and he’s even reached out to Kristaps and talked to him.
Then there was a report that Melo didn’t talk to Phil Jackson after free agency started. Those rumors were quickly shot down by his new teammate, Arron Afflalo.
It now appears that Melo is fed up with the stories and rumors and now he’s shutting down any more talk of his displeasure.

Now that Carmelo has cleared the air, it’s time for the Knicks star to continue his comeback to the court. It’s a step he has already made with Team USA by practicing with them today.
Anthony and the Knicks will have a magnifying glass all over them going into next season. Obviously because they do play in New York but these reported remarks and non-remarks by Anthony makes the Knicks star look like he’s ready to take on the pressure. Added pressure means more eyes will be on him and hopefully he’ll have a healthy season to shoot down the critics.
He’s coming out and talking about his team and letting everyone know how he feels. It’s time for the team to focus on issues they can control. Issues on the court as opposed to those off of it.
