Carmelo Anthony’s time in New York is under a super microscope for so many reasons. His contract combined with his age is a concern for the Knicks fans, especially after their drafting of Kristaps Porzingis, who might be a project.
Anthony reportedly voiced his displeasure about the New York Knicks draft night moves. The Knicks drafted Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall pick and dealt guard Tim Hardaway Jr to the Atlanta Hawks for Notre Dame guard Jerian Grant.
It appears now that Melo isn’t actually upset but in fact he understands the process that will be coming with this team. He knows that deals had to be made and he’s even excited about the possible talent that Kristaps Porzingis can be.
He posted the following on his instagram account.
Once again, this year might not be a turn in the right direction for the Knicks. They will be a little bit better, partially because they won’t be sending out borderline D-league guys on a nightly basis, and they actually will be fielding a somewhat competitive team with a healthy Carmelo Anthony.
Will they bring in David West and possibly DeAndre Jordan along with another free agent guard? No one knows to be sure but they need to do something because ‘Melo has eclipsed the 30 year mark. The clock is ticking on the Knicks and Anthony’s time with the team, and the clock is moving faster than ever.
