The Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks are very much intertwined this season. With Chicago moving on from its past few years, the Knicks are creating their self-called Super Team.
The Bulls traded Derrick Rose to New York early in the offseason. Later, Joakim Noah joined his longtime Bulls teammate via free agency. With two of Chicago’s most notable athletes off to New York, the Bulls are turning a massive page in their book.
So it’s no wonder that the eventual matchups between the Knicks and Bulls will be highly touted. In fact, one member of the teams expects it to be a big-time national showcase:
Melo guarantees that Knicks-Bulls will be on Christmas or opening night. NBA may decide to make it both. https://t.co/7Sh2HkSrpj

Carmelo Anthony’s definitely not wrong. Two of the league’s biggest markets featuring some of its biggest stars (even if the majority of them are old) is a matchup that needs to be exploited.
The matchup won’t be used for both opening night and Christmas, however. One of those days will be reserved for Dwyane Wade’s return to Miami, in all likelihood.
Nevertheless, the league will be sure to schedule at least one prime-time matchup between two of the most intriguing teams in the league.
