On Tuesday evening, Cardi B tweeted that she was put in a chokehold by a New York Police Department officer. Now, the NYPD is saying that never happened.
The NYPD has stated that there is no evidence that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper was placed in a chokehold.
“The NYPD was made aware of a tweet made by rapper Cardi B, which was since deleted, and indicated an alleged interaction between the NYPD and her,” a statement from the NYPD reads. “The NYPD has no record or any other information to support the validity of this claim.”
NYPD Assistant Commissioner Peter Donald told the media that an investigation was done on Cardi’s claim. No surveillance video or records of the incident could be found by police.
Cardi B has not said anything else publicly about the incident. She is preparing to release her debut album.
