Cardi B has opened up about the alleged incident with the New York Police Department.
In an interview with WEDR 99 JAMZ Tuesday, the “Bodak Yellow” star clarified what happened when officers responded to a traffic accident.
On September 19, Cardi tweeted about being put in a chokehold by a NYPD officer. Before that, Cardi and her cousin were in a car accident.
When the two got out of the car to confront the driver, the situation escalated. Cardi’s cousin was going to fight the driver who hit their car. Cardi admits to throwing a water bottle at the man.
When the NYPD arrived, Cardi said they targeted her first.
“Out of nowhere a motherfucka put me in a chokehold with my hand on my back like a chicken wing,” Cardi said in the interview.
She was in a state of disbelief because the cops went toward her — not the two men about to fight. Then, the officer put her in a chokehold, Cardi said. While she said police have tried contacting her, Cardi has no interest in talking to officers.
NYPD have said there is no evidence such an incident occurred. Cardi has not let the incident distract her from enjoying “Bodak Yellow” hitting number 1.
