Looks like Cardi B is set to make her film debut. It was announced Tuesday that she is joining the cast of STXfilms’ upcoming stripper-revenge film, Hustlers. Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, and Mercedes Ruehl were also announced to be joining the cast. The film will be led by Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu. Mette Towley and Trace Lysette are also in talks to join the cast.
Hustlers was inspired by a New York Magazine Article by Jessica Pressler titled, ‘Hustlers at Scores.’ The film will follow a group of strippers in New York City who, after the financial crisis, team up to take back from their wealthy Wall Street clients. Lorene Scafaria is set to direct the film.
Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina will serve as producers on Hustlers. Lopez worked with STXfilms recently with her 2018 film Second Act. Kate Vorhoff and Catherine Hagedorn are will serve as producers on behalf of the studio. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum will also serve as producers through their Gloria Sanchez production banner.
No release date has been announced but the film is set to begin production next week, on March 22nd.
