“I don’t fuck with both of y’all n—s,” she said.
The New York native went on to explain that Biden’s first term as President has been filled with “layers and layers of disappointment.”
“I feel like people got betrayed,” she explained.
“It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody. Then, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any fucking thing.”
One month after making those comments, Cardi B shared a snippet from her second album. As the snippet made its way through X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan commented, “She may have betrayed our country and turned Republican, but at least she found a nice tune.”
“I will never turn [R]epublican,” she replied.
Cardi B is not alone in her disappointment with both presumptive nominees. A recent poll from YouGov and Economist found that nearly one fifth of registered voters hold unfavorable opinions of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
“Most of these registered voters who have somewhat or strongly unfavorable opinions of both major candidates say they would cast a vote in a race with Biden and Trump on the ballot,” senior data journalist David Montgomery wrote for YouGov.
“Right now 27% of these voters who dislike both Biden and Trump say they would pick Biden, 17% would pick Trump, and 34% say they would vote for another candidate. Another 15% aren’t sure and just 8% say they wouldn’t vote.”
