There’s no one word that can describe Cardi B’s year. On one hand, the Bronx native has had one of her best years professionally. She’s hit the top of the charts with her single “I Like It” and her album, Invasion of Privacy. In addition, the Quality Control rapper has also had her first child and gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Offset.
On the other hand, the Grammy nominated rapper has also had her share of controversies in 2018. Most notably, she’s had a very public back and forth with Nicki Minaj. Most recently, the two New York rappers had a run in at New York Fashion Week that resulted in Cardi allegedly throwing a shoe. In addition, Cardi has become involved in an alleged assault case at a New York night club. In short, Cardi has had her run ins with the law and hopefully, they don’t go south.
Nevertheless, the Atlantic Records rapper is moving forward with her career despite the setbacks. Her return to music continued tonight with a performance on the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards.
