After 76 games the Los Angeles Lakers have an abysmal record of 20-56. They are on their way to trumping their horrible season from last year where they finished 27-55, this was the most losses the Lakers have had in a season since they franchise began. To shorten it up these last few seasons have been an absolute nightmare for Lakers fans. To be honest the word nightmare might be a nice way to describe their circumstances.
Well as of recent, Lakers fans have had something encouraging to look forward to next season in rookie Jordan Clarkson. After being forced into the lineup when Kobe Bryant went down with his shoulder injury, Clarkson was asked to play heavy minutes and has exceeded expectations. Averaging over 30 minutes per game since Bryant’s injury Clarkson has found himself exceeding expectations. He’s even hit a game-winner and was named Rookie Of the Month for March.
Lakers coach Byron Scott has taken notice of Clarkson’s ability and believes he should begin to model his game after his former player and current Clippers star Chris Paul.
Byron says he’s talked a lot to Jordan Clarkson about studying Chris Paul and modeling game after him

Scott has to have some bias in this simply because Chris Paul is the best point guard he’s coached (no offense Irving). Clarkson becoming the next Chris Paul is a long shot and honestly Clarkson is more of a score first point guard than Chris Paul. Telling him to model his game around known play-maker, but good scorer might hinder or stunt his development. Then again when Bryant was drafted in 1996 nobody would’ve thought that even if he modeled his game after Jordan he would turn into the Lakers legend he is today.
Clarkson still has a long way to go but with the development he’s already shown, this 2nd round pick is here to stay.
