The Lakers are in full tank mode this season, and there is a noticeable lack of talent on the roster. However, coach Byron Scott believes that the team can make a quick turnaround.
Following from Mark Medina of Inside The Lakers.
“You have a lot of free agents out there who would love to play for us. They’ve been making it pretty clear,” Scott said. “You have guys during the games come by the bench saying, ‘Hey Coach, I would love to be in L.A. next year.’ That makes you feel good there are players out there that want to be here. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we’re taking it in a different direction. They know this organization and the history of the organization is going to be back.”
Depending on which players Byron Scott was referring to, this could be huge for the Lakers. The Lakers have the appeal of being a huge, historic franchise that can afford to pay big money for talented players.
The 2015 free agency should be a good one, with lots of good players on the market. If what Scott says is true, L.A. could make some noise this summer.
Some potential players that the Lakers could target are Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic, Greg Monroe, or Kevin Love.
