The “Song of the Summer” race is as tight as its ever been. Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town” rang off multiple times at Broccoli City Festival last weekend in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Gunna is planning to take “fukumean” and his latest album, A Gift & A Curse, on tour to wrap up the season. Not to be forgotten, Drake continues to tour as his verse on “Who Told You?” with J Hus continues to be a TikTok favorite. With all of that going on, Byron Messia has secured a major cosign from Burna Boy on his breakout hit, “Talibans.” Hours before “New Music Friday” officially kicks off in the U.S., the rising artist has unveiled the “Talibans II” music video with the “Last Last” star.
“Talibans II” is just the latest victory in Byron Messia’s ascension. As his breakout hit has climbed the streaming charts, he has reportedly inked a deal with Interscope Records. Now, he’s looking to build upon his recent success with “Talibans” and his album, No Love, and win a Grammy Award.
“Within a year from now I want to win a Grammy, which is ironic because it feels like just yesterday I was on the streets with no money. Now I am living my dream,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
In the meantime, he’ll take a step toward the Grammy Awards with the “Talibans II” video.
