Bushwick Bill, an original member of Hip-Hop group Geto Boys, reveals his ongoing battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.
During an interview with TMZ, Bushwick Bill shared the details of his current fight with the deadly disease. The rapper says the diagnosis was a surprise. He and medical professionals had been monitoring a mass on his pancreas, which doctors labeled benign.
When diagnosed in February, Bushwick Bill decided to keep the news private. He only shared with close family, not even yet able to tell his former group members Scarface and Willie D.
While still early in treatment, Bushwick Bill cannot indefinitely say how his body is reacting to the chemotherapy. Bushwick Bill says he is not afraid of the illness due to prior experiences experience with death.
The infamous incident in 1991 where Bushwick Bill shot himself in the eye took the rapper to what he calls “the other side.”
“I died and came back already in June 1991, so I know what it’s like on the other side” says Bushwick Bill. These fearless sentiments are also found on his 1992 song “Ever So Clear.”
