According to Bulls insider Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, rumors are beginning to swirl that the Chicago Bulls want to trade Derrick Rose, who has been injured for a majority of the past three season. Rose has only played 95 games over the past three seasons as he has dealt with injuries and durability issues.
Chicago would likely be able to send Derrick Rose off to another team who is willing to risk Rose being injured in exchange for somebody who can immediately help their club win basketball games. The point guard would be a good pickup for any team that is on the brink of becoming a team ready to compete for a title.
If unable to trade Rose, the Bulls would be forced to keep the guard that won the league’s most valuable player award in just his third season in the league. Throughout his career, Rose has averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds, which would highly benefit the Bulls if he could stay healthy. The Bulls would love to keep Derrick Rose in Chicago for the rest of his career, but they seem to be done with him and all of his injury issues that continue to loom.
The Bulls were poised to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, and the NBA as a whole this season before Rose was forced out with another injury that required surgery. This season may be the last for Rose in Chicago if the reports of the Bulls being ready to move on prove to be true.
