Update:
It appears the Bulls have waived Spencer Dinwiddie before playing him in any games. In a move probably designed to clear cap space for the recent signing of Dwyane Wade, the Bulls have cut the point guard.

Original Story Follows:
The first trade of the NBA offseason has occurred! Don’t get too excited, it’s nothing too big, they Chicago Bulls have traded Center Cameron Bairstow for Detroit Pistons point guard Spencer Dinwiddie.
From the Pistons PR:
TRADE: #Pistons have acquired forward Cameron Bairstow from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie.

One of these teams is looking to free up salary cap space, because the Pistons didn’t need another Center in Cameron Bairstow to fill up the front court. On the other hand, could the Bulls be getting a young point guard they can develop because they’re getting rid of Derrick Rose? Bairstow didn’t average much for the Bulls, averaging only 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds, while Dinwiddie showed some signs of development averaging 4.9 points, and 2 assists while shooting 35% from the field. In my opinion, Bulls look like the winner in this trade, but we’ll see if this develops into any bigger this upcoming summer.
