The Chicago Bulls are signing guard Sean Kilpatrick to a three-year deal worth $6.2 million, reports Yahoo’s Shams Charania:
Sources: The Chicago Bulls have signed guard Sean Kilpatrick to a three-year, $6.2M deal, with team options on next two seasons. As part of salary maneuvering, Bulls signed Kilpatrick as part of mid level exception.

Kilpatrick, 28, was in the process of signing a 10-day deal with the Boston Celtics when they hit a snag: Kilpatrick received a more enticing offer – presumably this one.
Kilpatrick was on his way to join the Celtics in Sacramento when the second offer was made, likely ending his future as a Celtic.

Guaranteed money over three years is objectively much more tempting than a 10-day contract, despite how much better the Celtics are than the Bulls.
Kilpatrick spent 2010 through 2014 playing college ball for the Cincinatti Bearcats. After averaging over 20 points per game his senior season, Kilpatrick declared for the 2014 NBA Draft. Although he went undrafted, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers in Summer League. Since then, he’s moved around a lot, playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers, as well as the G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors and Delaware 87ers.
Kilpatrick stood out as a talented player with the Nets, but was waived to make room for Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas in the team’s trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Over the course of his NBA career, Kilpatrick has averaged 10 points and 2.7 rebounds per game on 41.1 percent shooting from the field.
