The Bucks had a huge turnaround year this season, going from the worst team in the league a year ago, to being the six seed in this years playoffs. The Bucks future looks to be very bright, but the citizens of Milwaukee may not be able to witness it.
Bucks Team President Peter Feigan said that the city must finalize the deal for a new Milwaukee arena in ten days or else, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
“The clock is ticking,” Feigin said. “This has to be wrapped up in the next 10 days. Our hope is to get close to finality on the collaboration between the city, the county and the state.”
Asked what would happen if a deal doesn’t get done within the deadline, Feigan responded:
“The Bucks will be gone from the state of Wisconsin,” Feigin said.
The Bucks proposed a $1 billion arena package last month. The NBA has given Milwaukee until 2017 to come up with a deal for a new arena.
It would be hard to imagine the Bucks leaving Milwaukee with such a bright future ahead, but we saw the Sonics leave Seattle with a young Kevin Durant, so it could it could be a real possibility.
