Even though the NBA is a team game. All teams have an inner core where if one is gone, you clearly see something missing. That’s why most teams only have a core of three, maybe four. The Atlanta Hawks definitely had five last season but there weren’t any number 1 options in that group. You rarely have a core of number 1’s (KD and Westbrook being the rare occasion).
The Milwaukee Bucks have had a great couple of years in terms of growth. Now they finally have a team that look good to contend, they also have youth which means that they have longevity on their side. But have you ever heard of a Six-Man core? Well Bucks GM John Hammond thinks they have just that.
We’re trying to build around some kind of consistency with the nucleus of Michael Carter-Williams, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Greg Monroe and John Henson. Those six guys are the young core that we look and say that’s kinda the future of this organization, and that’s not discounting anyone else. Other players have to step and become a part of that group with us. But those guys are the group we hope we can build some kind of continuity with.

Now I don’t know about John Henson, he has his moments but I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t part of the long-term plan. But a Six-Man core, just think about that for a second.
And we can all say in unison. You wish! They need a number 1 option. We all love Giannis but let’s be honest, he isn’t a number 1 option. Yet. Jabari Parker might be, but let’s actually wait on that.
This team is a good team, don’t get me wrong I rate them higher than most. But when it counts, who’s taking the last shot?
