Looks like the Milwaukee Bucks took offense to everybody talking about Chicago vs Cleveland in the second round after today’s news. In a hard fought game five the Bucks prevail 94-88. Just like game four Milwaukee forced Derrick Rose into a ton of turnovers (six), and another bad shooting night.
In the first after a quick start from the Bucks the Bulls followed right back with a 21-4 run to go up 21-13 halfway through the first period. Milwaukee got it back together through a burst from Khris Middleton who ends the quarter with 10 straight points for the bucks to give them a 23-22 lead.
The second period was a lot of back and forth dueling between both squads with neither team taking more than a three point lead in the entire quarter. Oj Mayo and Jimmy Butler continued with the battle of the fro’s and both received technicals for bickering with each other following a foul call.
Michael Carter Williams ended the first half with 14 points and six assists and Middleton ended with 15 as the Bucks led 52-49.
Both teams struggled once the second half started missing there first 11 shots combined before Giannis Antetokounmpo got a put-back layup following a Ilyasova missed layup. Bucks forced Rose into some more silly turovers and pushed the lead to nine at a point before the bulls ended with a usual run. Dudley ends their run with a three right before the end of the period to give the Bucks a 76-70 lead.
Williams really made his presence known early in the fourth continuing to expose the Bulls crappy rotations and Rose’s lazy defense. He scored eight of his 22 points in the quarter also.
Chicago got the deficit down to three with 4:45 left in the quarter but the Bucks defense was just too much forcing turnovers and blocking shots down the stretch to preserve their lead.
MCW came close to a triple-double with 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, Middleton finished with 21 points and four steals. Gasol led the Bulls with his double-double recording 25 points and 10 boards. Butler was next up with 20 points 10 boards, and 6 assists, he was 5-21 from the field however.
No team has came back from being down 0-3 in a series but the Bucks seems to be trending in he right direction.
Game six of the Bulls vs Bucks series will take place April 30th 7 p.m. ET on TNT.
