Missing their big time free agent signing for the seventh consecutive game, the Charlotte Hornets came into a game hosting the Milwaukee Bucks without Lance Stephenson. Kemba Walker has shined in Stephenson’s absence but by the end of the Bucks 104-94 defeat of the Hornets, they had another big injury concern.
“Big Al”, Al Jefferson, left the tight game with a groin injury, which he’s had a history of getting.
The Bucks at one point had a 20 point lead. Brandon Knight led the scoring charge with 18 points and he also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals on the night. The “Greek Freak”, Giannis Antetokounmpo, scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Zaza Pachulia scored 15 points starting at center for Milwaukee in place of the injured Larry Sanders. Jared Dudley came off the bench to score 17 points and grab 9 rebounds. O.J. Mayo scored 13 with 5 rebounds and John Henson scored 11 with 5 blocks and 4 rebounds, both joining Dudley off the bench.
Kemba Walker has elevated his play due to the recent struggles and injury of Lance Stephenson. Coming off his career high of 42 points in the Hornets loss on Saturday to the Magic, Kemba didn’t disappoint again. Walker dropped 28 points to lead the Hornets in scoring. Gerald Henderson scored 19 points to help out Walker on the night and dished out 5 assists. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 10 points for Charlotte and Marvin Williams came off the bench to score 8 points but grabbed 14 rebounds on the night. Before Jefferson left in the fourth quarter due to an injury, he scored 6 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.
Milwaukee Bucks are 16-16. Charlotte Hornets are 10-22.
