The Justin Gilbert experiment is finally over in Cleveland. The Browns have dealt away the 3rd year corner for a 2018 6th round pick. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the move sending his services to Pittsburgh.
Over the past two season Gilbert has really struggled only starting 3 games over that time period. It is safe to say the Browns missed on another draft pick since taking him 8th overall in 2014. Gilbert, 24, suffered a concussion in the 3rd preseason game and was considered iffy to make the 53 man roster.
Pittsburgh has been exploring the trade market in an attempt to improve their secondary. The Steelers did draft Artie Burns from Miami in the first round but he has been dealing with a quad issue. Pittsburgh will also be missing 2015 2nd round pick Senquez Golson for much of the season.
