There will be no basketball played in Brooklyn tomorrow night after the NBA – and New York mayor Michael Bloomberg – announced the postponement of the Nets v Knicks game. After initially announcing the game would proceed as scheduled, it was decided that the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy was too much for the game to go ahead.
There has been shutdowns of mass transit i the city over the past couple days, and although some subway service is expected to resume tomorrow, it would have severely affected fans ability to make their way to, and from, the arena in downtown Brooklyn.
No makeup date has been announced, but the Knicks game against Miami at The Garden on Friday is believed to be going ahead as scheduled.
