Starting in the 2017-18 season, the NBA will begin to allow their teams to have jersey sponsorships as an additional form of revenue. The Philadelphia 76ers started things off with StubHub, the Sacramento Kings got a sponsorship with Blue Diamond Almonds and recently the Boston Celtics enlisted GE as their jersey sponsors. Next up, the Brooklyn Nets.
A team currently at the bottom of the NBA standings is getting the next sponsorship on their jerseys. They will partner with a New York-based software company named ‘Infor’. Unlike other uniforms in the past, the logo doesn’t quite fit well on the uniforms.
The Nets made the official announcement of their partnership with Infor.

Point guard Jeremy Lin, and Nets CEO Brett Yormark went on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’ to debut the jerseys.
Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg reports that the sponsorship will get the Brooklyn Nets an estimated $8 million per year and also help out with some analytics and business operations.
The Brooklyn Nets have sold a jersey patch sponsorship to Infor, a closely held software company backed by Koch Industries Inc.
The company paid $8 million for the deal, according to a person familiar with the terms who asked for anonymity because the information is not public. As part of the tie-up, Infor will also provide data analytics and technology to support the team’s business operations, fan experience initiatives and player performance.
“Infor will soon become the main artery of our company, one that connects both business and basketball,” said Brett Yormark, the chief executive officer of Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment, which manages several sports properties including the Nets.
The choice is indeed interesting. Given the look that other jersey sponsors have in the past, the bright red on the white and black jerseys undoubtedly stand out. Luckily for the fans, the replica jerseys will not have the logos on them.
