Now can we all agree that the Brooklyn Nets are mediocre? I mean they aren’t the best, but they aren’t terrible.
According to CBS Sports, Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King says Brooklyn’s goal for the upcoming season is to finish in the top four of the Eastern Conference.
Brooklyn finished sixth in the conference last year, but advanced to the second round by beating the Toronto Raptors in seven games. With Pierce gone and Kevin Garnett a year older, though, expectations are lower than they were heading into 2013-2014.
Now sixth last year was actually a stretch for the Nets. They were lucky to even get there.
I have them in the 8th seed and that was before Andray Blatche left for China. You may not think this is a big deal but it is.
In their favour, Brook Lopez is back and Lionel Hollins is a good coach. Once again this all rides on Deron Williams. If he’s mediocre for another season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even get to the Playoffs.
