As an Englishman I love the fact that Commissioner David Stern put so much work into making the NBA a global sports and to have nearly 150 international games played is amazing. To me that is his legacy when he leaves and as a person outside of the US, standing O for David Stern.
So to the game itself in a sold out crowd in the O2 Arena in London, England. Brooklyn take over and beat the Hawks 127-110. The first quarter was the only time it was tight. In the second joe Johnson went off. 21 points in the 1st half.
The second half was not even close. Hawks tried to make a run but pretty much every Brooklyn player hit whatever they threw up. After the Nets go up by 30 the Hawks gave up. I mean they even let Pero Antic jack up threes. Jeff Teague tried to carry the team but it was muscle memory for the Nets D when Jeff darted into the paint nearly every play.
Kyle Korver nearly had his streak broken but managed to hit a three. The English audience knew this and cheered loud when he finally hit one. The streak is now 108 games.
Overall it was a successful week of the NBA. The game sold out in 4 hours, all the footballers (soccer players to you) were out in attendance including San Antonio Spurs fan Clint Dempsey and the Brooklyn Nets have won 5 out of their last 6 games.
Back to the US for another year.
