As expected Brook Lopez will not play in Saturday’s game with a lower back strain injury. Lopez has missed 4 consecutive games and has been a hot target on the trading block. Lopez has been injury prone being sidelined for 140 games since the 2011-2012 season. Lopez has averaged 16.1 points 6.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 30.1 minutes this season. Lopez wasn’t expected play this week anyways and has said he is targeting a return to the lineup next week and while he’s been sidelined Mason Plumlee has played some big minutes and has showed some value.
The (9-12) Brooklyn Nets take on the (6-16) Charlotte Hornets for the first time this season after splitting the season series last year. The Nets look to continue their winning ways after beating the Sixers 88-70 holding them to 31.9% from the field.
The Nets will need a better performance from their point guard Deron Williams who managed to score just three points Friday and missed all eight field-goal attempts, which was the first time he missed every shot he took since his rookie season. The Nets will also try and keep tonights score as low as possible, being 0-7 when they allow their opponent to score 100 points. Tune in at 7:00 est to see the Nets take on the struggling Hornets and see how the Nets fair without Lopez for the 4th consecutive game.
