After nine seasons in New Jersey and Brooklyn, Brook Lopez has cemented his spot as one of the greatest Nets of all time. On Monday, the 28-year old became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer in a loss to the Boston Celtics:

Lopez has now scored 10,444 points for the Nets’ franchise, surpassing Buck Williams’ previously held record in 73 fewer games.
The center has not had a glamorous career with the Nets. He is a one-time all-star, having led his team to only three playoff appearances. His injury scares in the midpoint of his career were thankfully short-lived, ending two seasons very early.
Most recently, Lopez has been one of a few veterans on Nets teams bereft of talent. Brooklyn is currently in the midst of a rebuild, attempting to salvage a future after having traded multiple draft picks for a short and mainly unsuccessful stretch of postseason basketball.
Throughout this rebuild, Lopez has remained loyal to the franchise that drafted him, drawing praise from his coach for how he has handled a tough situation. Meanwhile, Lopez has found himself in trade rumors for years.
Lopez has been a thoroughly underrated player for much of his career, despite his success as one of the best offensive big men in the league and his more than serviceable defense.
Regardless fo the reputation, however, Lopez now has history to back up his claim as one of the greatest Nets of all time.
