Brian Tyree Henry may busy promoting The Fire Inside with Ryan Destiny, but that doesn’t mean fans and reporters won’t ask him about Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. During a recent press run with Destiny, Marc Malkin of Variety ended his time with the two actors by asking about the film and when the public could expect to see it.
“In all due time. We have to conclude it. It has to be concluded,” the Morehouse College graduate said.
“First of all, that’s loaded. And yes, the answer is yes. No, look, it takes time, but we got to make you wait a little bit. You know what I mean? But it’s coming. It’s coming. There’s not going to be a dry eye in the house. I’ll tell you that. Good luck. It’s not going to wrap up in a nice little bow what things do.”
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse debuted in theaters on June 2, 2023 and dominated the box office. It grossed more than $600 million worldwide and it earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com said it was the “work of a young artist who refuses to be restrained by the borders of the frame” and Alison Willmore of Vulture called it “incredible” and “groundbreaking.”
Ever since it hit theaters, everyone has been asking for the sequel. At this time, there is no confirmed release date, but it is anticipated to come out before the end of 2025.
