A shocking development tonight as the Oklahoma City have decided to trade James Harden to the Houston Rockets. Harden was dealt after days of attempting to negotiate a contract extension reached a stalemate, the player turned down the Thunder’s offer of a four-year, $52 million deal earlier in the week. Both parties were hoping to still reach an agreement before Wednesday’s deadline for extensions but the Thunder have opted for financial stability rather than push for a max deal with Harden.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported the deal just minutes ago via Twitter. In return for Harden, Cole Aldrich, Lazr Hayward and Daquan Cook, the Rockets will send to Oklahoma, Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and future draft considerations.
