The Detroit Pistons have acquired Tayshaun Prince in a trade with the Boston Celtics, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.
The Celtics will receive Luigi Datome and Jonas Jerebko in return, Stein reports.
Prince returns to his original team that drafted them to help assist on their playoff push in the Eastern Conference. Prince won an NBA championship with the Pistons in 2004 and was selected to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 5 straight seasons between 2005 and 2008. In 35 games this season, Prince is averaging 7.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for the Celtics and Grizzlies.
Datome is in his second NBA season after playing in Europe from 2003 to 2013. At age 27, he’s not used at all and has only scored 11 total points in 3 games this season as a member of the Pistons. Jerebko is a 6’10” Swedish forward. The 27 year-old has played for the Pistons since 2009. He is averaging 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game this season in his time with Detroit.
