This ‘Breaking Bad’ movie is seriously gaining stream quickly. Just months ago it was announced that the show creator Vince Gilligan had set up an area in New Mexico to film a movie. Later on, it was confirmed that the movie would be Breaking Bad related. After multiple rumours of it being a Bryan Cranston movie or even a spin-off to help other characters stories finish, it will revolve around our beloved Jesse Pinkman aka Aaron Paul.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the feature-length movie will be a sequel revolving around Aaron Paul, who will reprise his Emmy-winning role as Jesse Pinkman. Sources also confirm that Netflix will have first-run rights to the top-secret project, which will then air on AMC. (Representatives for AMC, Netflix and producers Sony Pictures TV all declined to comment.)
Well this is huge news for both Netflix and AMC. With the streaming service owning the rights to the series, as well as it’s spinoff counterpart ‘Better Call Saul’, it only makes sense for the sequel film to debut on the platform as well.
As for the movie itself, it seems to follow Jesse Pinkman right after the events of the finale in the AMC show. Supposedly, it will be about Pinkman being on the run from the police, trying to find his way through mid-west America. While there’s no Walter White appearance confirmed, Bryan Cranston was recently on the Dan Patrick show and confirmed he’d love to join if asked.
There is no release date for the film yet but supposedly production will begin this year.
