In a separate deal, Houston traded guard Isaiah Canaan and a second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for McDaniels, sources said.
The rookie McDaniels has averaged 9.2 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game in 52 games for the Sixers. He has a ton of highlight plays for Philadelphia as he flys high and he can play some solid defense when needed and now he’ll be taking his talents to Texas. Now that he’s going to be coming off the bench, he solidifies the perimeter defense for the Rockets when Trevor Ariza or James Harden come off the court mixed in with Corey Brewer, who was acquired earlier in the season by Houston.
Sixers acquire a young point guard in Isaiah Cannan who will most likely be supplemented as the starter since Michael Carter-Williams was shipped out of Philadelphia and sent to the Bucks in another trade deadline deal.
