Brandon Knight, who has played just 23.5 minutes per game this season – the fewest of his career – may not be long for Phoenix. ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that the Suns are looking to move the 25-year-old guard prior to this season’s trade deadline:
The latest signals continue to suggest that Suns guard Brandon Knight will be one of the bigger names to move between now and the Feb. 23 trade deadline.
With Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker starting in the backcourt for the Suns, Knight has become the odd man out. Knight played just nine minutes in the Suns’ most recent game (an impressive win over the Raptors). This reduction of playing time could be a sign of things to come for Knight, and at this point, seeing Phoenix move him would come as no surprise.
Knight, in 33 appearances for the Suns this season (four starts), has averaged 13.1 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 40% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range.
Having three starting-caliber guard on the same team rarely works out, which is a lesson that the Suns apparently failed to learn during the Dragic-Bledsoe-Thomas era.
