Brandon Jennings knows exactly what people have been saying about the Bucks’ back-court tandem, that they’re too alike, too small and that he and Monta Ellis will never be able to co-exist together on the same team. Jennings says he is using the naysayers as motivation to try and lead Milwaukee to their first playoff appearance since 2010 when they lost to Atlanta 4-3 in the first-round.
“I really want it to work just personally, because everybody is doubting it,” Jennings said in an interview at his youth basketball camp at Homestead High School on Sunday. “With everybody doubting it, I think it’s important that me and him, we just work together to show everybody it can work.
The pair had a 12-9 record with both Ellis and Jennings in the same starting lineup but the Bucks still missed the playoffs last season. Jennings believes they could be a top 6 Eastern Conference team in 2012-13 though.
“That’s something I’m going to go into training camp talking about with the guys,” Jennings said. “Instead of saying we hope we make the playoffs, we just need to start saying, ‘We’re going to do it.’ “
