Last night, the New York Knicks went up against the Washington Wizards in Washington DC. The Wizards were fresh off a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and Washington has been less than impressive this season.
John Wall is already resting games, Bradley Beal has fought some little injuries here and there and big man Marcin Gortat has been adamant about a lack of production from the Wizards bench. On the other side, the Knicks were coming off a home win over the Detroit Pistons in which their young star Kristaps Porzingis went off for a career-high 35 points.
At first glance, you’d think the Knicks should easily hand the Wizards another loss. Then again, little did the Knicks know, they would put up one of their worst performances of the season. Despite a 47 point fourth quarter, the Knicks were handed an 119-112 loss by the Wizards and it ended New York’s season-high two-game winning streak.
After the game, Knicks reserve point guard and hopeful sixth man of the year Brandon Jennings sounded off on the team and voiced his displeasure in the loss.

“We haven’t been locking in well on the road,” Jennings said after the Knicks failed to hit the .500 mark and dropped to 5-7. “That’s our big problem. If we want to be the team we think we are, we’re going to have to lock in better on the road. We got to play 10 times harder. Teams play better when they’re at home because they’re feeling good.
“We’re the Knicks. You have to know what’s across your chest. There’s a bigger bull’s-eye on it. Everybody wants to beat us. It’s a known national team. These are games we have to win. We should be disappointed. We can’t just put together two quarters or try to come back in the fourth.”
“This is a team desperate for a win and they got one,’’ said Jennings, who finished with 17 points and 10 assists. “They just lost to Philly [Wednesday] night. They come in and beat us. We need to be more desperate.”
