About one month ago both Brandon Jennings and Joe Johnson were in a weird state. Brandon Jennings had been ruled out for the season due to an ankle injury, and Joe Johnson was in continous trade talks. Now they are both involved in a deal that would hypothetically send Brandon Jennings to Detroit for Joe Johnson.
Hearing Detroit has reached out to Nets to inquire about Joe Johnson according to league sources.

If this deal does go through, the Detroit Pistons would be poised for another run at the 8th spot in the East. When Brandon Jennings went down for the Pistons, they struggled to regain composure, and when Joe Johnson comes in he can lift that same offensive burden Brandon Jennings did. From the Brooklyn Nets perspective, I really don’t understand what they’re doing. They have Deron Williams and Jarret Jack, who have both played well despite Williams and Jack struggling with injuries. Jennings is something the Nets don’t need, but they must be very serious about releasing Joe Johnson and other big contracts off their roster.
