Memphis Grizzlies big man Brandon Clarke will miss the rest of the 2022-23 NBA season after suffering a torn Achilles. It is also likely he will miss the start of the 2023-23 NBA season in the Fall. Clarke suffered the injury in the team’s 113-97 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. He began limping and went down at mid-court before being helped off the court. Clarke was not able to put weight on his leg when heading to the locker room. The torn Achilles was confirmed by the team on Saturday afternoon.

This season with the Memphis Grizzlies, Brandon Clarke averaged 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 65.6 percent and a three-point percentage of 16.7 percent. The Grizzlies lose a valuable depth player with the injury and Clarke faces rehab from one of the sport’s worst injuries. With the free agent pool fairly thin there are limited options to replace Clarke to close the season. The Grizzlies are currently the second seed in the Western Conference Standings with an overall record of 38-24. They are six games behind the one-seeded Denver Nuggets and one game ahead of the Sacramento Kings at the three seed.
