
Mepmphis Grizzlies backup center Brandan Wright will be undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports. Wright, who was acquired in free agency by the Grizzlies this summer, will miss the next 6-8 weeks as he recovers from the injury.
There is some interesting extra details in regards to this injury, however. The Grizzlies may have known about the beginnings of the injury one month ago:

Wright has not played in any games since early November, perhaps due to this MRI, but the team seems to have tried to get him to rehab the injury away. The fact that the team was unable to diagnose the injury and more importantly, the fact that team officials were calling Wright “soft” because of it is very concerning. From the outside looking in, it seems as though the Grizzlies did a very poor job with this situation and may have played with Wright’s health and career.
It may be reading too much into an emoji-only tweet, but Wright does not necessarily seem pleased, either:
