Before the season started, the Washington Wizards duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal were said to have had a rift between the two. After a 41-41 season that was riddled with injuries, the House of Guards lost a lot of chemistry and it appeared their frustrations boiled over to the off-season.
However, the duo proved everyone wrong with a spectacular 49-33 season, a Southeast Division Championship and taking the number one seeded Boston Celtics to seven games in the second round of the playoffs. Both Wall and Beal finished the season with an allure of career-high numbers in multiple categories.
Their chemistry was among one of the best in the league, but it was their relationship that put them over the top according to Bradley Beal on his website.

John was terrific all year. He’s our point guard and our general, and our relationship is better than it has ever been. I think all the negativity at the beginning of the year actually brought us closer. We wanted to prove to people that they were wrong, and that there were no issues between us. There was no beef. We need one another in order for this team to be successful.
The House of Guards took a huge step this season and were able to improve their relationship better than it’s ever been before.
