
Bradley Beal was forced out of the loss to Indiana in the first half after he came down with yet another injury, this time to his ankle. Beal, who has dealt with many injuries over his NBA career, has not yet been given a timetable for his return to action.
The key for Beal is going to get healthy so he will be ready to help this team win come playoff time. As long as he is ready to play in a few games before playoffs so he can get back into the
Martell Webster should get some starts, as he was the one who started in the second half for the Wizards in place of Beal. Webster has been a very serviceable option off the bench in past years, although he is still working towards returning to form after a long absence due to injury. He should be able to hold down the fort as we wait for Beal to return, but Otto Porter and Rasual Butler will both be able to come in and take on additional minutes if needed.
Beal is obviously the first option, but him being out is not going to kill the Wizards like it would if John Wall was to be out. While fans wait for his return, Beal needs to work hard to make sure when he comes back, he’s fully back. The Wizards need to make a run, and in the playoffs, they will need him to be able to successfully make that run.
