I think we can all agree that when it comes to the Boston Celtics of this season and last season, there is no one person like there is for the Cleveland Cavaliers (LeBron) or the Golden State Warriors. (Curry)
The Boston Celtics are a unit, full of people that have battled their way to get to this position and they’re all pulling their weight. But it doesn’t hurt to praise the people individually. We then come to Marcus Smart, who has grown significantly since his Rookie season. He’s one of the biggest beneficiaries of Brad Stevens’ reign and Stevens holds Marcus in high regard.
“Those are the things that make Marcus special,” Stevens told reporters in Phoenix. “Sometimes those go in a box score, sometimes they don’t. But he does them every game. That’s why I don’t get too caught up in the box score stuff with him. He impacts winning and tonight was a good example of that.“
Not everything can be covered by the box score, it’s when you actually watch the games where you can actually see what players like Marcus Smart actually do. Doing the small things that aren’t classed as stats. It’s true with this team as a whole. Loads of small things that equate into wins.
